Blog Commenting and Joining a Tribe–Freeways to Business Promotion

Do you want to know a secret to getting backlinks for your blog and get free promotion for your business? I’ve been experimenting with one easy way to convey my message, attract clients and build my brand that I want to share with you.

A blog commenting campaign

I have begun a blog commenting campaign. What in the world is that? A blog commenting campaign is a focused effort to look for blogs to comment on to highlight you company. There are so many blogs out there in your niche giving you endless opportunities to plug your blog. That’s because unlike a static website, you can make comments on a blog. You have the opportunity to add what you think to a blog post, read what others have written and even comment on someone else’s comment. You should be passing on information while you are doing this because this is how you will gain credibility.

One of the nicest parts of commenting on someone else’s blog is you will be required to leave your website information on the form before you comment. This in turn becomes a backlink to your blog. So in essence you are creating backlinks and adding value through your comment. These two actions are an extremely powerful way to grow your brand.

Therefore you don’t want to blatantly self-promote in someone’s blog, but you can establish yourself as an information source by being part of the conversation. You need to be commenting on the right blogs going to the right readers and having the right message for this to be most effective.  Meanwhile you have to be subtle at getting your information out there while adding value to the conversation. It isn’t a good idea to put your website in the comment area. This is seen as too self-promotional and your comments might get sent to a spam filter.

Finding the right blogs to post on in tribes

How do you find the right blogs to post on? One way is to seek blogs that are inside your niche and will reach a particular audience. For example if you are a home cleaning service that also sells cleaning supplies, find blogs on cleaning services, how to blogs on house cleaning, information on cleaning supplies and other things related to house cleaning. You might even go a bit far of your field and find blogs on related industries like commercial cleaning. You can even check out your competitor’s blogs and comment on them giving a different perspective. The wonderful thing about blogs is that you even offer a counter position.

However this can be rather time intensive. That’s where the idea of joining some sort of tribe can come in handy.

That’s what I have done. I found a blog commenting site on the internet where I can join with others who have similar interests. When you put one of your blogs on this site, others with like niches comment on your blog. You in turn comment on theirs or on someone else’s blog in the tribe. You can find the right tribe for you and concentrate on building your business through the backlinks and being an information source.

Have you tried a blog commenting campaign? How did you like it?

Thank you adwanes. It is very important to get help from other bloggers. They will give you information you might not have thought about and they also teach you the way to respond to other blogs you will read. Please come back by again.

great! This is good blog. I really need this type of information about cleaning. Thanks for sharing this blog

My pleasure, Pammy. I'm glad I was able to give you the advice.

Thanks for your feedback and lets keep the Pen Mighty!

Thank you Cleaning company bristol. It is hard to keep up with everyone using blog commenting, but it is worth finding the extra time if you can.

You are welcome here any time. :-)

Thank you. I love writing things that do both. I really have enjoyed being a part of two tribes. It's cool.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Blog Commenting. Blog Commenting is my favorite strategies when i get time to do so. Thanks again

Thank you. I enjoy blog commenting, too. I have learned so many interesting things.

I do blog commenting for several months now to increase traffic to my site too but I don’t only comment on blogs that is relevant to mine. The better comments you are able to leave, the more they may interest and intrigue those that see them. The power of blog commenting is also directly proportional to how new the site is. IN other words it is THE thing to do for newer sites, and as your site grows it decreases in importance. (but is ALWAYS a factor.)

I love blog commenting. And Geoffrey, I have seen some comments on blogs written by people who have been writing for a long time. The trick is to say things that excite your readers. You don't want to stop that when you are established.

You are very welcome. I am so glad that you found this helpful.

Blog commenting is one of my favorite strategies (when I get time to do so)! As a matter of fact, the reason I'm here is because you commented on my blog and I wanted to see what kind of information you have as well (great stuff that I'll be sharing by the way!) :-) I love sharing! Make it a great day!

Yes, I have been enjoying it, too. In fact, I have to watch how much time I spend on it or I won't have done anything else all day.

Proper etiquette is very important. I wouldn't put something improper on someone else's blog and I expect the same courtesy. Thanks for your comment, Becky. I think we are both on the right track.

You're right...blog commenting is a win-win as long as you main proper etiquette, as you pointed out. To me, it's also a way to connect more directly with others in my niche and learn from them, too. I find it elevates us all. :)
